<COMPACT! FAST! PORTABLE! LIGHTWEIGHT!>
I am delighted with this mini electronic cutter, which has a small footprint and is ideal for my small studio. Now that I have this cutter, I don't have to drag out one of my big machines to cut a simple image. Additionally, I can create my own library and upload cutting files I have stored elsewhere.
I like the idea of having a machine that is small enough to take classes (A5) and very light. The software is easily understood and has enough features to quickly complete basic and complex projects. Another feature that I love is the ability to use blue-tooth or cable.
I will not discuss the technical specifications; you can read those in the product description. However, I have included a real-time video demonstration of the machine cutting.
I initially rated this product Five Stars. I dropped that to four stars for these reasons:
1. The Price - I love the machine, but it is over-priced. If I had not received this as a promotional item, it would not have been something that I would have purchased at full price. The Cricut Joy is cheaper and has more brand recognition. I think it, too, is overpriced, so I don't own one. And I was incredibly annoyed that it operates on blue tooth only.
2. I could not find compatible replacement blades or information on their website regarding blade compatibility with similar products like the Cricut Joy. The inability to find blade information is a big deal for me, and I am sure it will be for other crafters. I like to keep two or three blades on hand. I would also like to know what different types of blades are available besides the fine-cut blade.
3. The kit includes a black watercolor pen without explanation. The pen's presence will confuse beginner and Novice crafters unfamiliar with cutting machines.
I hope the company addresses these minor issues soon. If the price is adjusted and the accessories are expanded and more fully explained, they have an excellent product that will meet the needs of an extensive crafting demographic!
