As a novice in the use of vinyl cutters, ZAMA showed great interest in the use of vinyl cutters, and he thought that the S501 had a high ceiling and could produce designs that were more than just the most basic transfers. So with this in mind, he received an S501 belonging to likcut, and in the process of using it he encountered many questions that a novice needs to consider, so he wrote them down and sent them to us.
Among them were the following questions that he was eager to get answers to:
Q: As a newcomer, how should I pick the right consumables?
A: We usually recommend to start experimenting with the basic consumables (they are delivered as freebies and are enough for you to make initial attempts), and we will place detailed and specific instructions inside the purchased product, and there are also more detailed tutorials on the likcut website and YouTube channel; if you still have questions, you can also email our staff, and they will promptly respond to your questions.
Q: What should I do when the transfer film does not adhere well to the vinyl pattern?
A: The easiest way is to press hard with a squeegee, and of course to see if the protective sticker on the underside of the transfer film has been removed correctly, you need to touch the sticky side of the transfer film to the vinyl pattern in order for the transfer to be effective.

<Very nice vinyl cutting machine with a big learning curve>
Writer: MOCTODNOZAMA
I write reviews from the fifth dimension.
THE GOOD:
* This seems to be a very fun machine. What you can create is limited to your imagination.
* Build quality of the machine is superb, it's what you would expect from the more established brands.
* You can find likcut on YT, which is what I did to get started instead of reading the manual. However, there are two manuals, and you should definitely read the second manual, which is an explanation of the differences between the 3 paper samples they give you. You definitely should read that to avoid making the same mistake I made, which is putting the paper wrong side up in the cutter.
* Very giftable, especially for arts and crafts people.
THE BAD:
* If you are new to this world, there is a big learning curve, especially if you want to create your own images and have the machine cut out your creations.
* I felt Likcut was stingy with the samples in this bundle. They only gave you 3 samples to try. One is a standard permanent vinyl, one is a smart adhesive vinyl... I still don't understand the difference between those two, and lastly, you get a heat transfer vinyl. After that, you need to purchase their consumables.
* I uploaded a video of my first try, using their standard permanent vinyl sample, and it was actually unsuccessful. When it came to transferring the image, the transfer sticker would not pick up the vinyl cut-out. I've since learned that this is a common problem, and if you were experience in this hobby, you'd know the "flip over" trick, where you peel the backing away from the vinyl and transfer sticker. Likcut should have provided these tips.
* Overall, I'll go 4-Stars. I won't be too harsh on the fact that my first try was unsuccessful, most likely, user error since I am a newbie, but I feel Likcut could have provided more guidance out the box.
