Okay, I have a bit to say so hang in with me here. I am coming at this as someone who currently owns and uses my Cricut Maker 3, and I have to say as far as cutting quality between the two, this is absolutely comparable in a smaller package. Keep in mind, this will only cut at a maximum width of about 4.5 inches.

It can do longer projects, as it will take the mat with a 12-inch-long working area. I made a few practice projects, using my holographic vinyl, some card stock, and even some smart vinyl, all of which I had because again, I have a cricut maker. All cut with no issues whatsoever. It even accepts smart vinyl WITHOUT the mat, which is a bonus. That being said, there are still length restrictions. It looks like the app will not cut past about 8 inches or 21cm. I have not tried it myself, but just be aware of that.

The machine is no louder than I expected. It’s maybe a little quieter than my maker. There is a compartment to store your tools, and it was SUPER easy to set up. The Likcut app is VERY similar to design space. It also does have a subscription, which is $9.99 a month, but there is a 30 free trial. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the app. It works, and it is familiar, but it is not as user-friendly in my personal opinion as DS.

There are just a few things I like DS better, but this machine won’t work on DS naturally. That being said, it is not a complicated app, and once you get used to it, it will works well enough if you use their designs. The free stuff is very limited though.

Now the supplies I do want to touch on, because where you can find TONS of cricut dupes and supplies, finding what blades this uses, mats, and so on was EXTREMELY frustrating. I always like to have extra blades on hand just in case, and for the life of me, I could not find the sizes of the blade or the housing. So just for all of you, I bought a cricut joy blade. (Housing and all) just to try it out and…IT FITS! BUT…the blades themselves are NOT interchangeable. Maybe they will come out with blade replacements? If not, the Cricut Joy housing fits then you can just get cricut joy blade replacements. It has to be the JOY though. The makers and other machines are too big.

Overall, this is a fun machine! Sometimes, I just need something small and don’t feel like pulling my maker out, so I can just use this. It is also super light and compact, so I can take it with me to work, teaching, girl's night, and so on. It is really compact. It will be great as we start making things for my sister's wedding, we need all the cutting machines we can get. Furthermore, it’s a 5/5 for me!
